Psychological Service

The aim of psychological-pedagogical service that permanently works at the School is to provide psychological support to our pupils. It implies creation of such social - psychological conditions which encourage successful training and development of each child in the school environment.

The tasks of the service are:

• regular studying of psychological characteristics of pupils and changes in their psychic development throughout the period of school training;
• providing social - psychological conditions for development of a pupil’s personality and successful training; regular testing if the programs of study correspond to personality traits of the pupils; elaborating programs for pupils intellectual development;
• creating best conditions for cooperation with parents which entails taking a parent’s responsibility for problems in school training and development of their children;
• carrying out research work on studying efficiency and possible use of various pedagogical technologies.

The work of psychological-pedagogical service with pupils includes the following lines:

• psycho-diagnostics (scheduled testing of pupils);
• the work on a pedagogue’s requests;
• the work with the newcomers;
• progressing work (development of cognitive, emotional – personal and social spheres of pupils’ mental life and their self-consciousness);
• psycho correcting activity (overcoming difficulties in the cognitive sphere, solving emotional - personal problems, coping with the problems of adaptation);
• consulting (providing assistance to the pupils who experience difficulties in studying, socializing and psychological feeling;
• teaching the Upper School pupils the skills of self-knowledge, self-disclosing and introspection as well as using of their own psychological distinctive features and abilities for successful training and development;
• providing psychological help and support to the pupils who experience stresses, conflicts and strains), personal education (providing the pupils with psychological knowledge and skills that could help them to study and develop in various areas of school life).

The work of the service with parents involves

• consultation (keeping parents informed about the peculiarities of their children mental development;
• receiving additional information on the distinctive features of their children behavior in out-of-school situations;
• psychological support of parents in case their children experience serious psychological problems;
• psychological education (providing parents with the knowledge on peculiarities of children behavior at different age, their current problems and effective forms of a child-parent relationship).

The Psychological-pedagogical service keeps permanent scientific - methodical cooperation with the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of the Moscow State Pedagogical University. Consultations involving pupils, parents and teachers are held regularly.
