Teaching English includes three different courses: BASIC COURSE (for 1 - 11th forms), ADDITIONAL COURSES (for 6 – 11th forms) and THE COURSE OF PREPARATION FOR INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTS.

 

THE BASIC COURSE IS OUNDED on the state program for language schools approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

Home reading is an inseparable part of the Basic course. It is supposed that the pupils will master the language at the Intermediate or Upper Intermediate levels by the end of the 9th form, and at the Upper Intermediate or Advanced levels by the end of the 11th form.

ADDITIONAL COURSES are related to studying history, culture and literature of England and the English-speaking countries, and there are аlso some optional courses of Business English, Advanced Level Reading of the British press, etc. All additional courses are connected with the Basic course and are involved into the educational process according to the the age and the language level of the pupils.

THE COURSE OF PREPARATION FOR INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTS (TOEFL, CFC, etc.) is taught by the School teachers as well as by foreign English teachers from Great Britain or the USA.

The main goal of these courses is to broaden a pupil’s vocabulary, to master the modern language etiquette, to develop communication skills and other language skills that are necessary for successful passing of the International English Language Tests.

The course implies that the pupils attend additional classes during the second part of the day and that they have intensive language training throughout the summer holidays which includes trips to England, Malta, Ireland and the USA.


FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

French is taught as a second language. The goal of this course is to master the languages for oral and written communication. To attain these ends we use the textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as well as the textbooks aimed at developing communicative skills.

FRENCH LANGUAGE
The Basic course founded on the programme by E.A.Grigorjeva is aimed at studying French as the second language at schools with profound teaching of English. We offer different variants of the beginning and the end of the language training taking into account distinctive features of each pupil. The teacher selects an appropriate programme according to the language level of a child at the moment of arrival at school. The programme material is distributed by the teacher to match different stages of the language training. It is supposed that the Basic course of the second language enables the pupils to master it at the Intermediate level by the end of the 9th form, and at the Upper Intermediate level by the end of the 11th form.
